Ecotongues explores mediumship as the ability to inhabit the threshold between the visible and the invisible, the audible and the inaudible, as a performative practice of interspecific intimacy between human and more-than-human entities.
Crossing thresholds and borders, the figure of the medium becomes a living metaphor for ecotones—those porous, unstable territories where two or more ecosystems meet, merge, and give rise to new forms of life.
The voice, constantly shifting between the inside and the outside, is explored as a mediumistic tool: it moves through bodies, vibrating between interior and exterior, giving voice to presences unseen. From this liminal space—fluid, uncertain, ‘wet’—emerge alternative knowledges, often dismissed or marginalized, passed mouth to mouth.
